My husband and I only eat unsalted butter, never margarine. The only disadvantage to butter is that is very difficult to spread out of the refrigerator. The bread looks like it has been through the blender! Once we tried the Pinzon butter keeper, we knew we found the solution. The butter keeper sits on the counter and is always available to spread on bread or toast. I wish it held more butter, but it does the job it was meant to do - spreadable butter!

* The butter keeper is plain white, and should fit with most decor color schemes. It doesn't call attention to itself sitting on the counter, but when you open it up, it automatically becomes a conversation topic.

It does exactly what it's supposed to; keep butter without refrigeration on the counter for up to 30 days. It holds a quarter-cube of butter, and when it's full the butter is just below the rim of the bowl. The only minor mishap was when the butter was not \"sealed\" in around the edges and the suction of the water when removing the bowl caused the butter to be pulled out of the bowl and into the water. No harm done; we just fished the plug of butter out of the water and placed it back in the bowl. ...

These years in a small home have created a tension between sophisticated dishware and space. When I can manage both, all is balanced and good.

While a butter keeper to some, I have in this a convenient all-in-one breakfast dish. I began with a hardboiled egg set in the handle, snug until a knock from the butt of my knife provided me the first taste of morning. The small bowl where water is usually poured held my raisin bran, limiting my portion and saving my diet. A toasted raisin bagel on the side complimented all.

Proper breakfasts are always finished with coffee, and the butter keeper assisted in this as perfectly as it did for the egg and cereal. A rich French roast darkened the dairy white cup. A few drips of whole cream hid beneath the surface after my spoon moved the coffee carefully. Coffee swirled with majestic white ribbons finding more than juncture. Fading quickly into one smooth color, my breakfast was ending with an alert mind and satisfied palate.

* I have been wanting one of these forever, but just never got around to buying one. This one works great and it is so convenient to have soft butter on the counter to spread or whip into a recipe.

I like that this is white, it matches my table and my kitchen which are two different color pallets. Make sure you do not fill the butter past the top and don't add too much water or you would have a mess. Be aware that there is a bit of water that drips from this because it is sitting in water, I know that sounds silly to note, but just make sure you hold it over the crock when you lift and use it.

The crock and top are smooth glazed porceline, but the top ring around the handle is not glazed. We have had it for just a week and it has already absorbed some color from people's hands, kind of icky -- wish it was all glazed.

This is one of those things that I didn't know that I really, really needed. I love having bread with dinner and I love to put butter on it, but I hate struggling with the hard butter. In Europe we used to buy butter mixed with a bit of oil to keep it soft, but couldn't find this in US. The crock is cute, reminds me of France. We have it on a counter and only need to refill the water from time to time. The butter is fresh, perfectly soft and does not turn yellow, which often happens in the fridge. What can I say, I love it. The crock has some imperfections but I don't care, because my butter is always soft and ready to use.

The HJ-150 and 151 Pedometer must be positioned correctly. Attach the unit to your belt or to the top of your waistband. The unit must be horizontal to the ground in order for the unit to function correctly. The HJ-112 and HJ-720ITC Pocket Pedometer can also be placed in your pocket or purse.
